I am currently working on like six projects and I have got to say this is not fun. I am drawing a piece of art for my friend so that he has updated character designs before I get home, I am working a piece of music for my CSM, working a piece for my friend back home as birthday gift, working a job (non-profit) for a guy I met while I was out here and of course he will be paying me later… like I said non-profit, then I have a site I am working for I guy who is helping me out and a site I am working for my Regiment. I may drop a few of them or hand them off to another designer that I know out here, but at the same time I am trying to do it myself so that I know it gets done. Anyway the real reason for this is the updated character designs. I was really excited to get some time where I could draw these designs. I haven’t had a chance lately. I am working the designs for a sci-fi e-comic. My friend wrote the story I collaberated on it and then he asked me to do the art. I joined the army a few months later and the project got dropped basically. I did some work here and there, but I have this urge to get the first comic out soon. I wish I had the tools to do it tonight, but I don’t see that happening anytime tonight. I don’t have $500 of available money and I don’t have a good enough internet connection. Oh well, I get home in just a few short days. I will be posting the pics soon and hopefully they will be more than just a blip this time.

Still new to this idea that I need to post something on a regular basis. To start this off I am an american soldier, based out of Vilseck, Germany, born in Des Moines, Iowa, and raised in various cities and towns in Minnesota. I am currently deployed and just counting down the days until I get out of here. I hear about the news back home in the US and I wonder where they get all that stuff about the war in Iraq and the war in Afghanistan. I mean yeah we are here and we do some damage and yes there are people in both countries that don’t want us there and yes lives are lost, but they dwell on it as if that is the only thing happening around the world. It used to be that an american soldier would come home and people would line up to thank them for the fight they fought, now we get spit on and called names and jumped. A friend of mine was hospitalized because he was wearing his uniform and it said US Army on it. I just don’t get it. My friends are out here dying to protect what we have and to give another nation the freedoms we have and we get treated like crap? I mean I lost a good friend of mine when his helicopter went down a while back and no one saw or said anything about him desperately trying to get it to stay in the air. The only thing people heard about was the fact that there was a mechanical error and two survived. The media spun it so it looked like the mechanics fault, then when it came down that the mechanic had checked it and it passed an inspection by another mechanic they spun it so it looked like the pilot’s fault. In reality it was no one’s fault. The aircraft had a cross-wind that broke a worn pin and it caused a piece of the aircraft to bounce around until it got lodged in a rotor component causing the gears to become damaged. The aircraft fell and landed hard. The pilots were the only ones to survive. It was too bad they didn’t play off the fact that these guys couldn’t help it and they struggled to keep a dead bird afloat, it would have been a great story. I just wish for once there would be some real support for what we do. I gave up my rights to make sure my friends and my family were safe and that another country would finally get what we take for granted. Why can’t we shake the hands of our american heroes?

First Line… my first composition and my first time with a low end program. Garage Band makes me wonder some days.
